Glamourdale is the undisputed champion of the 2014 Stallion Inspection, the Reserve Champion of the 2014 KWPN performance test and the 2018 “sovereign” FEI World Champion of 7-year-old dressage horses. Glamourdale is beautiful, Glamourdale is impressive, Glamourdale is superbly bred, Glamourdale is extremely talented, Glamourdale is complete, Glamourdale: “he’s got it all”. Glamourdale is a son of the “producer of champions” Lord Leatherdale, out of the preferent prok mare Thuja (s. Negro), one of the best brood mares in the Netherlands.

Thuja is the dam of the top stallion Glamourdale and both ‘Elite’ mares Zonnebloem (s. Polansky) and Fresia (s. Jazz). Thuja is a full-sister of the English A-cadre top Grand Prix horse Numberto (Spencer Wilton) and the cousin of the very successful Small Tour horse Willem Alexander (s. Negro x Flemmingh x Ahorn). Great granddam Clementine (s. Ulft) produced Händel (s. Wolfgang), Michael Whitaker’s international top horse.

Inspection report
Glamourdale is an honest and reliable stallion with a very good temperament. The stallion has a great willingness to work and is very easy to work with. The walk is clear-cut and has good scope. The trot has good scope with an abundance of balance. The canter is uphill, very powerful and with very good scope. Glamourdale moves with good to very good elasticity, self-carriage and balance. Glamourdale is talented to very talented as a dressage horse and gives his rider a very good feeling.

Foal report
Glamourdale showed a uniform collection of well-developed, long-lined and appealing foals who have a good dressage model. The walk has good scope. The trot is uphill, has good scope and elasticity. The foals trot with an appealing forehand. The canter is powerful, has good scope and elasticity.

Own achievements

Glamourdale is the undisputed champion of the KWPN Stallion Inspection 2014, the reserve champion of the KWPN Performance Test 2014. Glamourdale performed very well in the PAVO Cup and the Stallion Competition. In 2018, Glamourdale was crowned as FEI World Champion of the 7-year-old dressage horses at the World Championships in Ermelo. In 2019 Glamourdale is unbeaten in the Small Tour with victories during the CDI Compiègne and CHIO Aachen (top score Inter I 80.412%). In 2020 he made his debut with a top score of almost 78% in the Grand Prix. In 2021 he made his debut in the International Grand Prix with a score of 76.4% in the Grand Prix Special.

World Champion 2022
During the World Equestrian Games in Herning (Denmark), Glamourdale won the Grand Prix Special (82.508) and the Freestyle (90.654%) in a phenomenal way which made him the two time Grand Prix World Champion.

  • Winner of the selection for the 2020 Danish four-year-old Championships with 98% Trot - 10! Perspective - 10! Walk, canter, rideability - 9.5! 9.7 - Gold!!! 
  • Hesselhøj Downtown's final performance at the World Championships for five-year old dressage horses in Verden was pure goose bumps. With his rider Jeanna Hogberg/SWE, he demonstrated the perfect example in terms of swing, elasticity and mechanics and proving himself to be a "very obedient and happy looking horse", as chief judge Susanne Baarup/DEN enthusiastically described it in her commentary.
  • At the Danish Championships for young dressage horses that followed, the judges even went a little higher in their marks for Hesselhøj Downtown’s presentation: a dream score of 10 for trot and overall impression, 9.8 for canter and rideability and 9.6 for walk.
  • In 2020, he was the ultimate benchmark at the qualifier for the four-year-old championships. At the time, he was ridden by Anders Sjøbeck Hoeck. The judges awarded 10 for canter and potential, 9.8 for walk, 9.7 for trot and 9.5 for rideability. In 2019, after his licensing in Herning/DEN, Hesselhøj Downtown passed his stallion performance test with uniformly good scores.

Sire - His sire Hesselhøj Donkey Boy, who stands at the same stud as his son, started his career in 2015 as premium stallion of the Danish stallion licensing and won his stallion performance test with 889.5 points. In 2016, he was Champion Stallion in the four-year-old class in Herning/DEN and won the Young Horse Championships with a final score of 9.6. He defended this title the following year with the final score of 9.96. He also secured the bronze medal at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo/NED. In 2018, as a six-year-old, he was placed again at the World Championships, and then in 2019, as a seven-year-old, he won the silver medal. He also defended his title at the Danish Championships for six and seven-year-olds. In 2020, he won St. Georges and Inter I competitions with scores of over 75 percent and was named Elite Stallion at the licensing in Herning. His offspring are already successful in young horse competitions. From his first crops of foals, he produced several licensed stallions.

Damline - His dam Boogie Woogie completed her mare performance test with high scores and won the silver medal at the Elite Mare Show in Denmark. His dam's sire Zack was placed tenth individually at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon and was highly placed in the World Cup finals in Gothenburg and Paris and came fifth with the Danish team at the European Championships in Rotterdam. He has produced over 30 licensed stallions, including the triple World Champion Sezuan and the Team Vice European Champion Glock’s Zonik and Edward.
