TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

PRICE - Once a sale price has been agreed this will then be non-negotiable.  Once a purchaser has agreed to purchase a horse, we will issue a Contract detailing all aspects of the sale.   The Price includes registration/passport costs with the Oldenburg Verband or British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS) at birth.

DEPOSITS - are only available on foals while they are still with their Dam.  Deposits are not accepted on any horses over the age of 6 months when the full sales price is due at the point of sale. Any deposit paid is not refundable should a purchaser change their mind for any reason.

VETTING - The responsibility of vetting of all foals/youngsters/horses is at the purchaser's cost, we cannot be held liable for any disease/injury/illness howsoever caused after the point of vetting and sale.

INSURANCE - We recommend that the purchaser insures the foal/youngster/horse at the point of sale including death and vet fees as we accept no responsibility for accident, injury, disease, loss, death or theft of a foal/youngster/horse once sold and any final balance payment will still be due. We will endeavor to take all precautions to avoid any accident, injury, disease, loss, death or theft, however, it is the owner’s responsibility to provide their own insurance cover if they wish. Purchasers are deemed to have accepted this clause once a sale has been agreed.

FOAL SALES - we give purchasers the option to purchase foals immediately after birth with a £1000 deposit taken at the time of booking, £500 will be refundable should the foal die before 30 days of age or fails a vetting at 30 days of age, or can be transferred to another potential foal if the aforementioned happens (should another foal be available).  As with any deposit, this is not refundable should the buyer change their mind for any reason.
At 30 days of age 50% of the agreed purchase price (less the deposit already paid) is then payable, however, the purchaser has the right to request that the foal undergoes a vet inspection at their cost and, should the foal fail the vet inspection, the buyer can withdraw from the sale and 50% of the deposit will be refunded. The final 50% of the sale price is payable 14 days before weaning.
If the foal dies between 30 days and weaning the purchaser agrees to pay 30% as the final payment due instead of 50%, the buyer keeps 20% of the purchase price to cover their own costs incurred.
At the point of birth to the point of weaning, we will cover the costs of all worming and farrier work for foals.  After weaning, and if the foals remain with us, these costs will be borne by the purchaser along with the agreed livery costs.

"IN-UTERO" FOAL SALES - there is an option to purchase foals prior to being born ("In-utero").  A discount on the sale price will be given to purchasers who take this risk.  A £500 deposit will be taken at the time of booking, this is only refundable should there be no living foal or if the foal dies within the first 30 days after birth.  If a foal is not born or dies shortly after birth then the £500 deposit is refundable or can be transferred to another potential foal (if available).  As with any deposit, this is not refundable should the buyer change their mind for any reason.
Once the foal is safely born, terms proceed as with "FOAL SALES" above.
If a foal is purchased "In-utero"  the purchaser is allowed to name the foal following the rules of the Oldenburg Verband or BHHS Studbooks however the name must include the "SLF" suffix.
